Our onsite classes can only be viewed in our labs or at a partner site. All classes for our participants are FREE. There are no fees unless you purchase an optional textbook or pay for an optional certification exam.

PASSING THE GED: overview

ONE 1-HOUR onsite CLASS

This class provides an overview of what it takes to prepare for the GED exam. The orientation includes an overview of our free GED prep software, which can be accessed from home. The average time from enrollment to diploma is just four months!

MONEY SENSE: PERSONAL FINANCIAL LITERACY

ONE 2-HOUR onsite CLASS or 4 online courses

Learn the financial literacy skills necessary to make sound financial decisions, reach your financial goals, and stretch your hard-earned money. The class covers three vital areas in personal finance: Saving, Budgeting, and Credit.

COMPUTER FUNDAMENTALS (PART A&B)

Two 3-Hour onsite ClassEs

Study the basic skills needed to navigate Windows, and learn to work comfortably with multiple programs and applications. The class covers desktops, laptops, tablets, smart phones, and trends in the industry. 

Prereqs: Students must be comfortable using a mouse and keyboard before taking this class. A free Windows Navigation tutorial is available on the Career Campus website, which focuses on the keyboard and mouse, along with the most basic Windows features, such as radio buttons, check boxes, drop down boxes, and text boxes.

INTERNET FUNDAMENTALS (PART A&B)

TWO 3-HOUR onsite CLASSES

Study the basic skills needed to navigate the Internet. Learn to effectively surf the web, shop online, and download pictures and articles. The second class concentrates on setting up and using email professionally.  

Prereqs: Students must be comfortable using a mouse and keyboard before taking this class. A free Windows Navigation tutorial is available in our labs and on the Career Campus website. The tutorial focuses on the keyboard and mouse, along with the most basic Windows features, such as radio buttons, check boxes, drop down boxes, text boxes, scrolling bars, copying and pasting, etc.

BUSINESS SMARTS: Small BUSINESS START-UP (Part A-C)

THREE 2-HOUR ONSITE CLASSES + ONLINE COURSES (optional textbook)

Learn how to start your own small business. This class meets three afternoons. Research your idea, find your target audience, market your product or services, write a business plan.

safestaff FOOD HANDLERS CERTIFICATion

ONE 3-HOUR onsite CLASS (OPTIONAL workbook & CERTIFICATION)

Earn the official SafeStaff Food Handler certificate required for all food establishments in Florida. This required food employee training program includes food safety best practices, quizzes and assessments, certificate and wallet card, employee health reporting agreement, and documentation to be recorded in the Florida Foodhandler database.

Learn the skills necessary to become a professional Housekeeper or hotel Guestroom Attendant. hospitality front desk CERTIFICATION

Eight 2-HOUR ONSITE CLASSES + ONLINE COURSES (OPTIONAL workbook & CERTIFICATION)

These classes result in an optional Front Desk Representative certification from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) and referrals to local employers. Topics include guest service skills, professionalism in hospitality, organizational teamwork, disability and diversity awareness, phone skills and conflict resolution, safety and security, front desk operations, reservations, and salesmanship. The class includes lecture, videos, demonstration, tours, and lots of practice.

guest service gold CERTIFICATION

one 3-HOUR onsite CLASS (OPTIONAL WORKBOOK, CERTIFICATION, & Pin)

This half-day class results in an optional Guest Service Gold certification and pin from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI). The class focuses on stellar guest service and is tailored to individuals already working in the hospitality industry. The class includes lecture, videos, demonstration, and activities.

CPR/AED/FIRST AID CERTIFICATION

two 3-HOUR ONSITE CLASSes + ONLINE COURSEs (OPTIONAL textBOOK & CERTIFICATION)

Become certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid. The class is free, but there is a $30 fee for the Red Cross certification. Attendees MUST complete an ecourse component on the Career Campus website before attending this three-hour class.

Prereqs: Students must be comfortable using a mouse and keyboard before taking this class. A free Windows Navigation tutorial is available on the Career Campus website, which focuses on the keyboard and mouse, along with the most basic Windows features, such as radio buttons, check boxes, drop down boxes, and text boxes.

Students may also opt to only be certified in First Aid or CPR/AED instead of both. Each is a 3-hour class.

CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA)

fiFTEEN 3-HOUR ONSITE CLASSES + ONLINE COURSES + CLINICALS (OPTIONAL textBOOK)

These classes will prepare you to pass the Florida Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) exam. Many graduates will be offered positions at local nursing homes and healthcare facilities upon passing the exam. Attendees MUST complete an ecourse component on the Career Campus website before attending class. Additional ecourses will be assigned between classes.

MEDICAL OFFICE SKILLS

Prepare for a career in a medical office. Course contents will include Medical Terminology, Medical Billing, and Medical Coding. The class will prepare students to take the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant exam.

Learn how to design a website. The first class covers how to modify templates available through services such as GoDaddy and Squarespace. The second class covers how to build a website from scratch using WordPress.

Learn how to handle money in the Retail Industry. This is a basic class to prepare students for the Point of Service Cash Register Class. The Retail Money Handling Class covers the following topics:

  • Identification of all currency, and correctly counting by 1’s, 5’s, 10’s, 20’s
  • Counting change back using the “counting up” method
  • Using a calculator to ring up items and determine change
  • Counting and balancing a cash drawer
